• Your mouse has two buttons on it, left and right. It also should have a wheel in the middle. If it doesn't, you should buy a new one with a wheel. You can get one at Wal-Mart for about $10. Also, if you get an optical one, you don't need a mouse pad.

  • The left button does things. Click once to select, twice to open or do. If in doubt, try one click--if that doesn't work click it twice as fast as possible. (speed can be adjusted)

  • The right button gives you a menu. Remember to use the right button if you can't figure out what to do--because it will give you options.

  • The wheel lets you scroll up or down the page. Also, if you are in word processing (Works, Word, Rich Text Wordpad, or Open Office) or internet pages you can adjust the size of the print by holding down the control button (Ctrl) on the keyboard and moving the wheel on the mouse up or down. Adjusting the size of print can reduce eye strain.

A good thing to remember--there is almost always more than one way to do something. See if you can learn the easiest way for you.
